Proton.me

It has been a while since I made a new post. I believe that security and personal privacy is a must in this day and age, but it is harder to do now a days. This is not paid I don’t own any stocks I won’t get anything if you make an account, I just want people to know that there are choices out there. So this post will be about proton.me. Proton is a company based in Switzerland, that has privacy top of mind. You can image them as the better google. They have the following products (some of which the free users cannot use yet but will be rolled out eventually): protonmail (gmail), protondrive (google drive), proton calendar, protonvpn, protonpass (currently only for paid members). Now of course the regular folk that believe that big brother is here to help you and give you free stuff are going to look at this and think why should I be apart of this, why would I need encryption I have nothing to hide. Sure you are right, but when you are not paying for something that means you are what is being bought. With google they can read your emails and sell the data to companies to better get you to buy something. I have been using proton for 4 years now, I found them when they only had protonvpn and protonmail. They worked great, I loved the whole no log policy and the fact that they were Switzerland based which has some of the best online privacy laws. I have nothing to hide but I would rather pay for something and have a say in what happens to my data. In the last 2-3 years proton has upped their team and the applications that you are able to use. As a member (paid or free) they care what you have to say and even let you know what is coming down the line. Such as the protondrive that recently came out. I personally pay for the highest membership as I have family that use my vpn. Yes it is a step price as I pay every 2years, but I get 3TB of space on my protondrive as compared to google you get 15GB. They have also added an easy way to add people to your account. I talked my brother into making a protonmail account a while ago telling him about the issues with Free accounts (google). He made one and hasn’t had any issues, when proton added the functionality to add members to accounts without having a domain. All I had to do was sent an invite to my brothers account and it added him. I can give him as much space as I want from my 6TB of drive space and he gets to have access to all the paid member perks. I could talk about this company forever, but just try it out see if you have anything problems with it, you can make a free account and upgrade at anytime. proton.me
