Being safe online is a lot harder than you might think. First we give out all our PRIVATE info all the time (social media, buying online, etc). Here are some tricks you can do to help yourself out a little. To begin always use a password manager, this allows you to have safe passwords that are long and complicated that you just do not need to remember, here is my personal favorite (https://bitwarden.com/). Bitwarden can be used on any OS, mobile phone and can be used in any browser. Best part its free and open source. Second thing have different emails for different things, such as an online shopping email, a social media email, spam email. This will make it harder for attackers to just brute force into your accounts because everything is a different email. I would also encourage monthly self audits and checking if any of your accounts have been pwned by going here (https://haveibeenpwned.com/). You can sign up to get a notification if / when you do get pwned. Last 2FA, I know I know you’ve heard it all before. But honestly 2FA will save your accounts from being compromised. Setup 2FA everywhere that you can. You can set it up with an app on your phone or my favorite having a yubikey (https://www.yubico.com/) this is a single USB that can hold up more than 20 different sites. These should be the minimum 3 things you do to keep yourself safe online.
